The Traditional Mint Julep Drink Recipe

The Kentucky Derby was held on May 4,, 2012 at Churchill Downs, the most famous horse race in the America. The traditional drink Mint Juleps have been served in a silver mint julep cup at Churchill Downs since 1875.
To prepare a Mint Julep put mint, sugar (small amount) or a packet of Splenda, and a small amount of bourbon into the bottom of a mixing glass. Swirl gently to blend the flavors all together then let it sit in a refrigerator or ice chest for a while. Strain the contents from the glass over a mixture of crushed ice. Add a small amount of juice or water into the finished mixture before pouring an ounce of whiskey. Remember to decorate the drink with a mint sprig to complete your chilled Mint Julep in the Silver Mint Julep Cup to keep you’re superb beverage cool to drink and enjoy on a hot summer day.
